Herdie is foraging again -- this time for locally grown wild watercress! Join him on Sunday morning May 20th at 11:00 am for another unique experience -- foraging for fresh wild watercress. Fresh wild watercress grows in abundance in our area, and Herdie knows where to look!. Locavore that he is -- Herdie consumes watercress in a number of his recipes.
So, what is watercress and why eat it?
According to Wikipedia:
Watercress is an aquatic plant species with the botanical name Nasturtium officinale. This should not be confused with the profoundly different and unrelated group of plants with the common name of nasturtium, within the genus Tropaeolum.
